ENGINEER
}I am a 2nd year Computer Science (CS) major, studying to earn a bachelors degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology's College of Computing (CC). I originally entered Georgia Tech as a Mechanical Engineerig (ME) major, but I switched as soon as I took my first CS class. I am extremely grateful to Georgia Tech, as I was 1 of 6 students in my accepted class to receive the extremely generous, GodBold Family Foundation, full-ride scholarship.
The unlimited creative potential of computer science fascinates me and allows me to explore new ideas.
I am passionately curious about how things work, how to make them more efficient, and computer science provides me the tools to explore! When I see the amazing things that you can accomplish with computer science, from how full-stack web/app development to the brilliance of applying AI to programming self-driving cars, it all excites me!
The limitless applications, opportunity for advancement, and potential to increase efficiencies is why I am passionate about CS! I like to learn new languages, create projects, and lead teams.
Without a doubt, I would say that I am a great leader, but not for the reasons you may think. What I believe makes me a great leader (and also team mate*), is that I approach projects and life with a student/learner mindset. One of my favorite quotes that I heard someone say was that,
A wise person knows there is something to be learned from everyone. Only fools think they know everything
I truly try to live by this, as I have learned to cast aside my ego, and just try an learn from everyone that I can. In turn, this has led me to become someone who has a vast wealth of knowledge in many educational, but also personal areas. Educational, meaning literal knowledge, such as how to code X or design Y, and personal meaning, how to get a team to trust you, and get them inspired to become their best selves for instance. Both educational and personal skills are crucial in being not only a great leader, but an effective one as well.
I am very capable of starting and building a project from scratch, as well as creating the infrastructure to succeed (entrepreneurship). Examples are my non-school related projects like this website and the MUTR startup team I created. Another environment where I can thrive is in one which already has a foundation (intrapreneurship).
I have always excelled in class projects where there are already guidelines or foundations to follow, and a specific goal/objective. With an existing foundation, I have always been able to thrive, as shown with my Individual and also Team Project for ME1770, in which I was appointed the team-leader.
Once I have a clear goal in place, as well as the rules and restrictions, absolutely nothing is impossible.
